A Letter from Forrest & Hope
Greetings from Colorado!
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our family. We desire to share our love for the outdoors, adventure, faith, and education with your child. Hope is a stay-at-home mom and we are both very family-oriented so your child will have our focus, time, and attention which will enable them to thrive and blossom. Our adoption journey started through infertility, which led us into foster care where we adopted our son O’Ryan (3); and we are excited to continue our adoption journey with Lifetime. We would love to stay close with you through letters, pictures, phone calls, and visits.
Our Story
We met in college and reconnected when both of our mothers became friends and set us up on a coffee date. We connected over our Christian faith and our heart for adventure, travel, education and love for others. We married in 2012 and have a strong relationship built on our faith in God. We love to be outdoors, learning more about different cultures, eating healthy and having movie nights. We look forward to sharing our love for the outdoors with your child and also want to help them thrive in their education and personal interests. God loves your child so much and we want to share our faith with them in a loving way that shows them value, care, and individuality.
About Forrest
Forrest loves athletics and being active outside through hiking, fishing, running, and camping. Forrest is the Director of the college ministry at the University in our town; he is a great role-model to young adults. He loves children and is playful with our son, tenderhearted, and fun. Forrest and our son love to play at the park, play with Legos, paint and build together. He is looking forward to sharing his love of being outside with your child through hiking in the summer and in the winter taking our entire family into the mountains to pick out our own Christmas Tree!
About Hope
My wife Hope loves Jesus and wants to live for him through loving and caring for others. She spends quality time with our son O’Ryan playing hide-and-g0-seek, singing songs with him like Baby Shark or songs they make up together. She genuinely wants others to know she is there to support them and help them feel accepted. She enjoys singing, playing guitar, writing songs and loves to laugh; she has a great sense of humor. I appreciate that she goes out of her way to ask me how I am doing each day and makes room to spend time with our family. She wants to share her love of music, singing, and guitar with your child and wants them to have fun with learning when she homeschools them.
Our Home in Colorado
Our home is in town and surrounded by big trees. We have 4 bedrooms with an open living room and dining room that has large windows where we can see friendly wildlife; deer, birds, and squirrels outside. We have a fenced in backyard with a large patio that our son can ride his bike on and we can enjoy having meals outside. Our neighborhood is safe and quiet with kind neighbors. Our home is walking distance to a park and there are also safe walking and running trails that connect from our neighborhood.
Our Son and Family
Our son O’Ryan is 3years old; we adopted him when he was 1 year old and he is such a joy in our lives. He is full of laughter, curiosity, and loves animals. He is social and loves playing with other children. His interests include anything that has to do with cars, trucks, or tractors. He’s so excited to have a sibling!
Both of our families were friends before we got married so we enjoy spending time with both of our families for holidays, family BBQ’s, hikes, and camping. Our families have been encouraging as supportive of our adoption journey and they are eagerly awaiting bringing another child into our family! We also have friends that are like family to us and our kids get to play together each week. We also have a supportive church that is full of people who love us and will love your child as well.
Our Promise
Our promise to you is that we will love your child and provide a stable and nurturing home full of love and grace. We will also share with your child how much God loves them and how valuable and unique they are. We look forward to raising your child to pursue their dreams, desires, and interests by allowing them the freedom to be who God made them to be. We would love to stay connected to you through letters, photos, and visits. We promise they will know their adoption story and the beautiful family heritage they share with you.
