A Letter from Ben & Rebecca
Hello from Minnesota, the land of 10,000 lakes! We are Ben and Rebecca, and we appreciate you taking the time to get to know us. We are so excited to become first-time parents through adoption! Adoption has always been a calling in our lives, even before we experienced infertility. We are a cheerful Christian couple with a loving, encouraging, and stable home. We value honesty, encouragement, and giving to others. We enjoy going to the movie theatre, cooking together, and taking long walks. We’re excited to adopt a boy or girl of any ethnicity and are open to any level of adoption contact that you are most comfortable with.
We met through Ben’s mom and have been married now for 4 and a half years. We have always known in our hearts that we were going to be parents. We have spent countless hours dreaming about adopting and, recently, God has shown us that now is the time!
We are adventurous and like to try new activities. We like celebrations with our extended family, volunteering at church, game nights, traveling (to warm places), concerts, and movie nights. On a day-to-day basis, we enjoy long walks with our dog, Shiloh, cooking dinner together, watching our favorite shows, and DIY projects. We look forward to celebrating holidays and creating traditions with our baby. We can’t wait to take our baby on stroller rides and explore local parks. We will incorporate our faith, our families, and our friends into our child’s life.
One word to describe Rebecca is passionate. She cares very deeply for the kids she takes care of at her job as a pediatric nurse. At work, she has been given the nickname of the baby whisperer because she has a gift of bringing peace and calm to all of the babies. She loves spending time with our nieces and nephews and enjoys cuddling our dog, Shiloh, on the couch and playfully chasing him around the house. One of the highlights of Rebecca’s week is spending time with her friends at her weekly church women’s group.
Rebecca enjoys serving others, whether that is at church or in our community. She speaks encouraging words to other people daily- be it family members, friends, or strangers. Rebecca enjoys reading, going to movies, buying gifts for family, trying new restaurants, attending concerts, and baking for special occasions. Rebecca looks forward to reading our child bedtime stories as well as cuddling, singing, and rocking them to sleep.
One word to describe Ben is generous. His heart always serves others through his time, finances, and love. He serves his parents every month by being the sound man for their prayer service rally. He faithfully leads a weekly church men’s group. He loves to pick out gifts for birthdays and holidays and enjoys choosing special cards for each family member to celebrate. I admire his attention to detail.
Ben has qualities that I know will make him a great dad. He shows our family daily unconditional love, support, leadership, guidance, and wisdom in making decisions for our family. Ben looks forward to playing with our child, talking to him or her while feeding them, celebrating milestones, and teaching new skills like crawling, walking, and riding a bike. I can’t wait to see him love our baby!
We are grateful to have all our extended family within an hour of our home. Ben is the second oldest and has two sisters and one brother. Ben’s parents and siblings (including their families) live within 30 minutes of us. We try to see them every month. During family time, we enjoy playing board games, BBQing, and running around with our nieces and nephews. Rebecca is the middle child and has two brothers. Rebecca’s parents and brothers’ families live within 45 minutes of us. We see them at least once every month, and we enjoy many fun activities together, like boating, bonfires, bouncy houses, and even taking vacations to Rebecca’s parents’ second home in Arizona. Both of our families are excited about our adoption and look forward to supporting us any way that they can.
We live in a lovely 5-bedroom, 4-bathroom home with a spacious backyard that has ample room for kids to play. Our home resides in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of parks, playgrounds, and walking/biking trails. Our neighborhood has families and kids of all ages. We often see our neighbors and their kids on the playground just down the street from our house. We enjoy hosting family get-togethers and grilling and playing ladder ball and corn hole in our backyard.
We promise to unconditionally love, support, and cherish your child as our own. They will always know how much we love them, how much you love them, and how much God loves them. We will always encourage them to pursue their dreams and help them understand their purpose and develop their gifts and talents. We promise to be upfront and truthful about their adoption and to speak about you lovingly and positively. We will teach your child about their heritage and give them the opportunity to experience and understand their background. We will show your child how to love and respect others and provide them with educational opportunities that align with their passions. We promise to stay in touch with photos, letters, and visits (whatever you are comfortable with).

|More About Our Family
Shiloh (e.g., Ricky Bobby from Talladega Nights) is our energetic and playful 15 and half year-old Bichon Frise. He loves going for long walks, running around with us in the yard or house, and cuddling on the couch. Shiloh is very gentle, and he likes when the neighborhood kids pet him on his walks. Shiloh enjoys daily treats from milk bones to sweet potatoes and carrots. He has a very special place in our hearts.
Education and hard work are important values to us. Rebecca has worked at the children's hospital for 15 years. The favorite part of Rebecca's day at work is when sick kids become well and get to go home. Rebecca's hospital is located 25 minutes away from home. Ben started off in accounting and then switched to IT Security 7 years ago. Ben enjoys learning and growing in his career and has obtained several certifications. Ben works from home and enjoys the flexibility it gives him, especially with being able to better take care of Shiloh.
We are a Christian couple who live out our Faith by loving God and loving people. We serve at church on the prayer team and in Bible study groups. We believe in loving people by generously giving our time and money to others. We sponsor several children and missionaries in other countries. We enjoy serving at food programs and serving day through our church.
