A Letter from Joel & Rayna
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. After experiencing infertility, we knew adoption was God’s plan for us. We look forward to this amazing opportunity to open our home and life to your child and become first time parents. We are a Christian couple with a loving, wonderfully supportive extended family.
We are a healthy, active, financially stable couple who enjoy taking walks, bike riding, bowling, going to the beach and taking day trips to sightsee. Our home is filled with warmth, love, and laughter. Together we are a fun, hardworking, loving couple and are excited to share our faith and life-long journey with your child.
We first met online and met up for our first date after work one weekend. What was supposed to be a quick chat over dinner turned into a four-hour conversation that was easy, relaxing, and made the time fly. That’s when we realized we had a very real connection with one another. We know God has guided us since then in our path to build our family together, and to do so through adoption.
We enjoy cooking together, attending sporting events, bowling, going to the beach, and festivals to listen to live music. We like taking vacations and experiencing new things. We have two super friendly dogs and enjoy being outside with them on walks or playing outside. We also enjoy quiet nights on the patio with a small fire. Education is important to us and with Joel’s military benefits your child will inherit these benefits as well, ensuring they can go to college and pursue their own career path. We are excited to share our family traditions and make brand new ones as a family.
Rayna is a very compassionate and attentive person. She is driven and deliberate in her actions, never lacking in sincerity, and isn’t one to take herself too seriously. She works in healthcare and is very health conscious as a result. Working out, eating right, and always staying active even in leisure activities is a top priority. She loves hosting our family and friends for dinner and game nights.
She’s done much to involve herself in our church since we’ve been married. She has always been a warm person and decided to join the hospitality team in our church in order to be more welcoming to members and get to know others. She never shies away from a challenge and always puts her best foot forward. She is kind, loving, and will make a great mother.
Joel is a caring and supportive man. He is smart, witty, funny, and laid back. He is hardworking, structured, determined and will soon be promoted to Captain in the military! He has been on a few mission trips with the church and has taught Awana, working with children. He is very outgoing and just a good Christian man.
He enjoys golfing, bowling, going to local festivals to listen to live music and watching sports. H enjoys cooking and trying new recipes. I know, without a doubt, Joel will make an amazing father. He has so much love and knowledge to share. He is excited to introduce your child to all the fun and exciting experiences we have to offer.
We are blessed to have an amazingly supportive and encouraging family. We see our parents weekly and talk a few times a week. Joel has a bigger family with four siblings and three stepsiblings. We have twenty-one nieces and nephews. Rayna has a small quiet family so it’s a great balance. We enjoy all the family get-togethers throughout the year, especially celebrating the holidays.
We have amazing friends that we see regularly whether it’s for dinner or game nights. We also have our church family. We have so many people we can trust and rely on and your baby will instantly be welcomed into this world surrounded by love and open arms.
We have a nice three-bedroom brick house in a wonderful and desirable area. We are located in a quiet neighborhood with an elementary school at the end of the block. We also have great neighbors and a big fenced in yard perfect for playing games in. There is a bike path two blocks away to enjoy walks or bike rides. Our community is very active with carnivals, music festivals, and other community involved events we like to attend.
We promise to love your child unconditionally. We will encourage and support them and provide a stable home environment in which they will thrive. We promise to have tons of laughs, cuddles, teachable moments, and vacations. They will always feel loved, cherished and be learn to be respectful with great morals. Your child will always know we became a family through adoption. If you are open to it, we would like to stay in contact with letters, pictures and visits.

More About Our Family
Our Special Interests
We enjoy cooking together. We also enjoy going to sporting events, bowling, bike riding, the beach, and local festivals to listen to live music. We enjoy having date nights with dinner and a movie. We like to be outside whether it is going to the county fairs, ice skating, or going for walks with our 2 dogs. We enjoy quiet nights on the patio with a small fire. We also enjoy taking yearly vacations.
We are a Christian couple who go to church every Sunday. We are involved in a few ministries in church including Agape Go! which is a community service and outreach program. We are part of the Hospitality Committee where we greet members and visitors before the church service at the entrance to the church. We are also involved in the Welcoming Committee where each quarter we meet and have a luncheon with the newest members and visitors of the church.
Our Musical Interest
We love listening to live music and go to local festivals to listen to bands play. We love to put music on the t.v. and sing and dance while we cook or clean.
Family holidays and traditions
Holidays are spent in a very traditional way. Easter is started with a church breakfast and then dinner with family. 4th of July is parades, cookouts, and fireworks. We do a fall family picnic close to Halloween where we cookout, hike trails, and carve pumpkins. We do Thanksgiving with Rayna's parents and do the yearly ornament exchange that she has been doing since she was young. The day after is spent with Joel's big family to celebrate. Leading up to Christmas it is spent with family decorating, visiting, and gift exchanges. We also enjoy going to the local tree-lighting where they have carolers and ice skating. New Years Eve we have friends over for dinner and game night.
Rayna's career goal is to start working as a Cardiac Sonographer. I recently finished school and after the adoption will look to start my new position in that field. Either in the same hospital I am currently at or another one closer to home.
Joel plans on continuing his career in the military until retirement where there is plenty of room for advancement. I am already halfway to the 20 year mark and plan on taking advantage of all the benefits the military offers, especially the ones for our future child. The military offers great benefits to include health insurance and education benefits so our child can go to college. I will soon be promoted to Captain and will take on a commanding position.
We live in the state of...
We live in a quiet neighborhood with a good school system. There is an elementary school at the end of our block. We have great neighbors. We have a big fenced in back yard for the dogs and kids to play in. There's a bike path 2 blocks from our house to enjoy walks on. "The region", what we call northwest Indiana, is made up of close suburban towns near Chicago so we have a good amount of diversity and culture, but it's far enough outside the city so it's not too crowded and there is plenty of open space and nature to enjoy. Our community is very active with carnivals, music festivals, weekly movie night and other community involved events.
