A Letter from Nathan & Lauren
Thank you for opening your heart to us and for considering us for your child. We have always known we wanted children and are excited to become first-time parents through adoption. Lauren’s mother was adopted so we know first hand the joy it brings. We truly believe and practice the idea that ‘it takes a village to raise a child.’ This is why we want our siblings, parents, friends, and you to be able to watch and influence your child’s development. We are excited to welcome your child home, surround them with family and love them unconditionally. We promise that they will know their story and how loved they are. We look forward to getting to know you and keeping in touch with you through letters, pictures, and visits!
We met in the summer of 2006 as we began high school together. Our love grew through the years and sustained us during our time in college when we lived in separate states. After we got married we quickly started talking about growing our family and we were soon lead to adoption.
We love to cook together, read, spend time with family, take our dogs (Sophie and Leo) for walks, and enjoy spending time together working in our garden and on home improvement projects. We are excited to read to our child daily, let them get dirty in the garden as we do, and teach them to enjoy food and cooking from a very young age. We look forward to bike rides around town and teaching our child the joys of working with their hands.
Nathan is an Air Force engineer with a passion for space and rockets. He is an amazing cook and enjoys spending as much time as possible outside with friends and family. He is excited to share his hobbies with our child and help cultivate and support their natural talents and interests. As an avid reader, he is looking forward to taking our child to the local library or book store and spending hours reading and playing in that imaginary space with them. Following in his father’s footsteps, he may even be a soccer coach or Scout Leader depending on our child’s interests!
Lauren is a very selfless person who always puts others first. She has a nurturing spirit and loves to take care of plants, her puppies, the environment, and her family. To relax she enjoys working in the garden, listens to podcasts, and has game nights or book clubs with friends. Lauren’s unique upbringing as an Army daughter brought her all over the world and she hopes to share her love for travel and interest in foreign cultures with our child. I know she will be an amazing mom and is excited to share her faith and positive energy.
Our home is in a cute suburb with great opportunities to enjoy entertainment indoors and outdoors. Our house is two stories with a yard and a roomy kitchen (the heart of the home). Our two dachshunds, Sophie & Leo, are active, friendly and always greeting us and our visitors. They love to play in the living room and snuggle on the couch every evening. Our neighborhood strikes a balance between urban access and suburban comforts. We live near a large park, are close to our workplaces, and live less than five miles from the ocean.
Family is very important to us. Lauren is the oldest of two and Nathan is the third of four. Lauren’s sister, whom she talks to almost every day, and parents live in Texas while Nathan’s family is rooted in Virginia. We make it a point to see Lauren’s family a couple of times a year. Nathan has two brothers and a sister, and two in-laws. Every year or so the whole family gets together for a family holiday or destination vacation, and it’s always a great time filled with a mix of adventure and relaxation. The whole clan is excited for our adoption and look forward to welcoming your child!
We promise to raise your child with love. From the day we bring them home to when they are forming their first memories and own personality, we will be a loving example to them. We will tell them their story and about your love. Your child will be surrounded by people who care about them and want them to experience all of the pure joys in life.

More About Our Family
Our Special Interests
We spend every possible minute with each other and with our dogs. We have two dachshund mixes who enjoy walks and outdoor time; which is great for us. We love to cook together and often team up in the kitchen to make some very memorable dishes. We are avid readers and love discussing what we read, be it astronomy, organization, natural science, and history. We also have large families to keep in contact with, visit, and call. When we enjoy downtime, we are usually working together in our garden or yard or on a woodworking fixture or other home improvement project.
We were both raised Catholic and were able to grow into our Christian faith in high school and college. We both connected to bible studies and other church ministries and even went on retreats and mission trips. Today, we are practicing Catholics and active churchgoers, involved in several church ministries including choir, men's group, and fellowship. We often discuss how we will teach our children about Christ and help them to be active disciples who live the Word of God in their daily actions.
Our Musical Interest
We met in Marching Band in high school. Nathan played the trumpet (like his 2 brothers and Dad did) and Lauren played the flute (just like her Dad did in school and beyond). After high school, Lauren and Nathan both played in their college marching bands and continued to grow musically. To this day, Lauren plays the flute in the church choir and both listen to Spotify daily while cooking, driving, cleaning, and dancing in the living room.
About Our Home
We currently live in a 3-bedroom home with a wonderful backyard. We love having natural light for plants and we try to keep the space relaxing, functional, and beautiful. We look forward to getting a nursery ready and preparing our home to be a welcoming environment for a growing family.
Sophie is beautiful Dachshund Mix and is a very maternal and wise dog. She is 6 years old and became a big sister to Leo on New Year's Day 2018. We found both dogs through foster homes and in Leo's case, the photo really tugged at our hearts. It is easy to fall in love with a sweet little face- we have always known that they were preparing us for human children.
We live in the state of...
Currently, we call Southern California home! We are a military family and have lived in several states but we are in California for the long haul. We are lucky that the Air Force considers our family needs and preferences- we certainly move less than Lauren's Army family did growing up.
We live in a diverse neighborhood close to the beach and near lots of fun things to do at any age. We enjoy relaxing at home but we venture out daily to walk the dogs, visit farmer's markets, and pop into the library to borrow a good novel. Our community is bursting with life and feels very family-friendly. You can't walk very far without bumping into a neighbor, dog-walker, or child headed to school.
We Prefer a Child Who Is...
Age of Child

The more the merrier! We would gladly accept twins into our life and would feel blessed to raise children who have an instant connection with one another.
We would love to have multiple children, so we have no preference for our first child.
|Ethnicity of Child||Caucasian, Asian, Middle Eastern, Caucasian/ Asian, Caucasian/ Hispanic|
