A Letter from Russell & Ashely

Hi! We have been friends since childhood and happily married for over 5 years. Having met in middle school, we’ve known each other for most of our lives! Now we’re excited to expand our family through adoption. We have several family members who were adopted and, as a blended family, we feel a calling to this path. As a couple, we love traveling, the zoo, amusement parks, and time with family. Ashely works from home and is ready to become a stay-at-home mom after we adopt.

If you want, we welcome an open adoption and the chance to get to know you and the hopes you have for your child.

About Us

We care about having quality time with family and friends, making the most of every moment. Being a military couple, it’s important to us to take pictures, maintain connections with our loved ones, and make sure people know how much we love them. Our faith has taught us to trust in God’s plan for our life and we look forward to seeing how adoption will grow our family.

Things we love to do together:
• Travel to see different states
• Find a new zoo to explore (our goal is to go to every zoo in the U.S.!)
• Visit aquariums
• Experience drive-through safaris
• Go to museums and learn new things
• Hike with our family
• Ride roller coasters

Meet Ashely

According to Russell: Ashely has an amazing heart of gold and would do anything for people she loves. She is a dedicated mom and definitely one-of-a-kind. She’s a Federal Technology Specialist and studied physiology in school. Ashely is already a supermom and will give everything she is to the child we adopt.

Ashely enjoys:
• Cooking (especially new soup recipes)
• Reading

Meet Russell

According to Ashely: Russell is in the United States Army and he’s hardworking, caring, and compassionate. He is a dedicated husband and always strong and positive through any situation. Russell loves my girls as his own, and I know he will be an involved, loving, and giving dad to the child we adopt.

Russell enjoys:
• Drawing
• Learning to cook
• Hiking

Our Family

When we met, Ashely already had two daughters from a previous relationship. The girls live with their dad in Maryland. We travel to visit them often and stay close in between visits. We’ve embraced our blended family in love and our girls are excited about our plans to adopt and add a sibling to the mix!

Kaleigh, 14, is bright and energetic, involved in track, plays clarinet, and is interested in studying criminal justice and a military career one day. Joscelynn, 12, is smart and social, sings in chorus, loves to draw, paint, and dance. We’re very proud of Kaleigh and Joscelynn, who each have huge hearts for others.

Our extended family is fairly big, very inclusive and welcoming! We enjoy family game nights, Sunday dinners, and planning themed parties (just because) for our 9 nephews and nieces. Most of our family lives in Maryland, and because of the military we can travel easily to visit.

Our Home in Kentucky

Kentucky is a great place to raise a family! We live close to a lot of parks, splash pads, and swimming pools. There are community centers and libraries nearby as well. Our home is warm and comfortable, with a fenced-in backyard to play in. We are ready to welcome a new baby to our home and have already set up a nursery with children’s books and toys.

Our Promise

Thank you for considering us as adoptive parents for your child. We promise to love endlessly, stand by him or her through all things, and be committed to meeting this child’s every need. We believe in raising a child to have a strong education, faith, and sense of family. As parents we will pass on solid and loving values, and raise him or her to be honest and caring.

You will always have a special place in our hearts, and we promise to include you in updates, if you’d like. (We’re love taking photos!) We will talk about you and our family’s adoption story out of love, so that your child can grow up to embrace and be proud of how we all came together this way.

We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. To learn more about us, please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

Thoughtfully, Russell & Ashely

More About Our Family
Adoption in Our Family

We’ve seen first-hand what a gift adoption can be, on both sides of our family! Ashely’s dad, two of her cousins, and Russell's twin brother and sister were all adopted. They will all be a sweet additional support to our future child, sharing adoption in common.

Fun Facts

Ashely: I like to be silly and sign and dance.
Russell: I am known for busting out in song and telling silly jokes.

Favorite Holiday Tradition

For Easter we make a Bunny cake and the newest member in the family gets to decorate the cake. It’s a silly tradition we’ve passed down for many years! We also enjoy egg hunts and planning themed parties.
