A Letter from Scott & Linda
We are excited to become first-time parents through adoption and look forward to welcoming your child into our hearts and lives! Our most enjoyable activities involve the outdoors and include hiking, camping, sailing, and gardening. We look forward to raising your child in a supportive environment of faith and love. We are open to contact through letters, photos, and visits throughout your child’s life.
We met through a mutual friend who thought we’d be perfect for each other, and it turns out he was right! Our marriage is grounded on our deep understanding of each other, our strong love and silliness! We can make each other laugh at just about anything.
A couple of years ago we built our dream house and have enjoyed truly making our house a home. You can find us doing woodworking projects (Scott) and working in the garden (Linda). We also love getting together with family & friends for any outdoor activity at any time during the year – hiking, biking or cross-country skiing. We are truly blessed and look forward to welcoming your child into our lives and into our adventures!
Scott is the most supportive life partner I could have ever asked for. I admire his kindness, faith, compassion, level-headedness and zest for life. When I am worried about something he is always there to talk it through and to tell me it will all be ok. He is an engineer by day and has an innate ability to “figure things out”, which comes in handy in so many situations. Scott loves working with his hands, whether that be fixing something at home or doing woodworking (he’s currently making nightstands for our bedroom). He also loves sailing and has a passion for the outdoors, which he cultivated through many years of scouting as a child. Whenever we are on a hike, Scott is always prepared. I know Scott will be an amazing father and is excited to share his love of the great outdoors!
Silly, serious, and supportive; these three words describe only a portion of who Linda is. She brings out the best in me without breaking a sweat. She can make mundane things like grocery shopping, enjoyable and fun; we often joke that Friday night is our Date Night at the supermarket! When it comes to life’s serious things, Linda is a solid foundation that has and will continue to help us weather the storms. Linda loves to cook and enjoys trying out new recipes. Her favorite thing to make is homemade ice creams, which is currently a toss-up between peanut butter and Nutella. Linda loves running and has completed the Boston Marathon twice! She also enjoys keeping our home organized and decorated, which instills a calm and warm environment. I know that she will be a caring, supportive, and loving mother.
We live in a small town in a 3-bedroom home we built shortly after we got married, and it has been a joy to customize our home to us. We are located near the end of a cul-de-sac, in a newer neighborhood that has a lot of young families and children. In addition to a large backyard, we also have a trail close by where we can walk, bike or cross country ski in the winter. We have a supportive church community in the neighboring town and enjoy volunteering at church throughout the year.
Our parents are thrilled for us on our adoption journey as this will be the first grandchild on both sides. We both have one sister and we get together frequently with them and their spouses for holidays and game nights. Each year both sides of our families gather at our house on Thanksgiving. We started a tradition about a year ago of “surprise date nights” which sometimes morph into larger gatherings (this year Linda hosted a surprise birthday party for Scott that brought all of our family and friends together). We think there is something magical in the element of surprise and will keep the tradition of surprise family outings going with your child. Lastly, we have a wonderful elderly cat named Greylock (after the tallest mountain in Massachusetts), who is as lovable as he is cute.
Our home and family provide an environment of unconditional love and we promise to ensure your child always feels that, every step of the way. We promise to teach and nurture, provide the best education possible, and allow your child to explore his/her passions. We are open to sharing letters, pictures, and visits, and we look forward to speaking with and getting to know you.
